We received a large number of excellent applications for the PhD programme in Energy. A long list of candidates has been prepared by verifying the eligibility criteria. The candidates mentioned in the long list are eligible to appear for interview, which will be held on 4^th and 5^th Dec 2025.

Interviews will be conducted on 4^th and 5^th Dec 2025. 

For TAP (teaching assistant through sponsored project) positions, we may ask you to appear for a second interview.

 

 3. You will be asked if you are willing to join under the TAP category: 

 

You will join the Institute as a PhD student under a specific research project and your PhD supervisor will be assigned when you are offered admission. It will not be possible to change the supervisor or project after admission. At the same time, since the project is funded with well-defined deliverables, you can start working on the research problem much sooner.

You have flexibility in choosing your PhD supervisor and research project. You will be encouraged to interact with different faculty members in the department during your first semester. A supervisor and research topic will be decided based on your interests, the faculty members’ interests, and departmental rules on project allocation. 

 

We would recommend that you use this page as your primary source of information about the admissions process.

 

You should keep a Govt. issued Photo ID card for the verification process. No other articles (e.g. phones, smart watches, etc.) are allowed during the interviews. 

 

You can submit the VALID GATE Score card printed from the internet/provisional certificate during the interview. However, at the time of admission, you have to submit the original one.

 

A government identity card showing the candidate’s name, date of birth, and a photo.

 

You will not be allowed to appear for the interview.
