Minor in Energy Engineering (from 2023)

In view of the problem of climate change and scarcity of fossil fuels, the field of energy engineering offers significant challenges and opportunities. The Department of Energy Science and Engineering offers a minor in Energy Engineering to enable undergraduate students with different backgrounds to understand the different aspects of energy engineering. Two core courses are required, Energy Management (EN 410 M) and Renewable Energy Generation and Storage (EN 323 M). Additional three electives may be selected based on the students interest from the courses offered by energy department (fuel cells, wind energy, solar thermal, solar PV, nuclear,….) at least at level 600 or above. The minor in energy provides UG students an opportunity to explore possible opportunities in energy efficiency and clean energy to develop sustainable energy systems for the future.
