The Department of Energy Science and Engineering offers graduates in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical engineering and other allied engineering disciplines an opportunity to specialize in the field of energy. The faculty of DESE have developed strong linkages with government organizations like the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Atomic Energy Regulatory Board, Department of Atomic Energy and several industrial organisations (like Forbes Marshall,Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission).
The department provides facilities, atmosphere and experience that can help engineers and researchers to develop sustainable energy systems and solutions for the future. The DESE is inter-disciplinary in nature and has the following areas of research:
