Abstract

Mondelēz International has always believed in protecting the well-being of our planet. Being a snacking giant we have been consciously working towards Sustainable Snacking through our ‘Call for Well Being’initiative that inspires both our employees and consumers to strive towards this commitment.

The idea is defined by four pillars of Sustainability, Safety, well-being of Communities and empowering consumers to snack mindfully and position our products as more balanced and healthy. The safety of our employees and consumers is of utmost importance to us and we have achieved world class safety performance standards, both at manufacturing sites and in terms of Food Safety through FSSC 22000.

Our initiatives in sustainable agriculture program through Cocoa Life has empowered thousands of farmers and improved their lifestyle. Striving towards an environmentally friendly sourcing we have already ensured a 100% sustainable sourcing of palm oil. Through our partnerships with UNDP, WWF and others we have been touching the lives of over 2 million people globally and inspiring the next generation to create such thriving communities.

Our strategy to lead and engage directly on the areas where we can make the biggest impact in terms of reducing our environmental footprint which includes reducing the energy and water consumption as well as the CO2 footprint, has been one of the best in class and we are continually improving upon the same. Incorporating the concepts of Integrated Lean Six Sigma has helped us reduce our manufacturing and packaging waste and create more sustainable products. We believe in the power of Big and Small and hence our commitment involves integrating all our employees and even the smallest of our suppliers to bring about this Big change of moving towards Sustainable Snacking.
