There will be two rounds:  a) written test;  b) interviews

Only those who have been shortlisted in written test will be invited for the interview round. 

Written test is scheduled for May 9th; 7.30 AM;  

Interviews are scheduled for May 10th: whole day

Note: both written test and interview rounds will be held in-person at IIT Bombay.  You will have to come here to take the test and interviews.  Important:  you will be taking the test on PCs in computer laboratory.  

The venue for written test will be Software Lab SL1 and SL2 (Room 201 and 202), 2nd Floor, Kanwal Rekhi Building, Department of computer science and engineering, IIT Bombay, Powai, Mumbai - 400076. It is listed in google maps as kresit building maps.app.goo.gl/j1PWZxid3Z5TZx7f8

1. Is there a web forum where I can get further info, ask a specific query other than those covered here, and stay tuned for updates?

We would recommend that you use this page as your primary source of information about the admissions process.

2. What documents should I keep for the Written Exam and Interviews?

You should keep a Govt. issued Photo ID card for the verification process. You should also keep plain paper and pens/pencil handy as these will be required for working on the written test problems as well as answering questions from the interview panel. 

3. My GATE Score card/qualifying degree certificate has not reached at my home address? What shall I submit?

You can submit the VALID GATE Score card printed from the internet/provisional certificate during the virtual interview. However, at the time of admission, you have to submit the original one.

4. What are the documents required for identification?

A government identity card showing the candidate’s name, date of birth, and a photo.

5. If proper identification is not available, what shall we do?

You will not be allowed to appear for the online exam and interview.

6. What are some of the available and possible areas/projects for PhD in DESE?

7. If I cannot attend the written test on that date, will I be given a re-exam ?

No re-exam will be conducted. Its your responsibility to ensure you are available during the written test, and ensure proper network connectivity at your place.
