This paper investigates the frequency characteristics of low-inertia power systems with effective utilization of synchronous generators displaced for accommodating large-scale RE sources owing to the transition to more sustainable power systems. The technical advantages of refurbished synchronous machines are analysed by studying the frequency performance of different power systems under various operating conditions and PV penetration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
