Dr. RS Anand is a Principal Research Engineer in EE Department, IIT Kanpur (http://home.iitk.ac.in/~rsanand/). He is the coordinator of the Semiconductor Device Fabrication Lab, EE Department, IIT Kanpur.

He is doing R&D in organic LEDs, polymer photo-diode, polymer solar cells and silicon photo-detector, solar cells, high voltage silicon BJTs, rectifier and other devices. Numbers of discrete devices and modules of 7-segment displays and polymer solar cell modules have been developed under various sponsored projects. A 1.2 KWp, high efficiency solar concentrator has been set up at the premises of the institute. The work has been published in various journals and presented in different national and international conferences and symposium. He organized a National Conference on the Emerging Trends in the Photovoltaic Energy Generation and Utilization (http://www.iitk.ac.in/photovoltaics/) on 27-29 March 2008, an International Symposium on Photovoltaic Science and Technology (http://www.iitk.ac.in/ispst/) on 13 Jan 2010 and Seminar on Micro-solar Energy Generation and Utilization (http://www.iitk.ac.in/solarenergy)/ on 3-4 Sep 2011.

He is the principal investigator of IIT Kanpur part of DST sponsored Indo-UK "Stability and Performance of Photovoltaic (STAPP)" project. The task of IIT Kanpur team is to setup 5X10 KWp solar power plants having five established photovoltaic technologies; Mono, Multi, amorphous Silicon, II-VI thin film and High Concentration Photovoltaic (HCPV) technologies and do the performance evaluation and help find out the Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE).
