Gobind Gopalakrishna Pillai is a PhD student in Energy Systems and Advanced Materials Research Groupat the School of Computing, Engineering and Information Sciences in the Faculty of Engineering and Environment, Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. 

Gobind's research interests include New and Renewable Energy Sources, Distributed Generation and Power Quality. His educational background is in Electrical Power Engineering. He is presently a student member of the IET.

Gobind's research feeds intothe STAPP project work package number 6: Performance and Potential assessment. His research focuses on the grid connection aspects of PV system performance studies andaims to investigate new techniques to provide better control and enhance the capability of distributed PV systems, in UK &India, for maximizing energy capture, for providing grid support and increasing the value of PV systems.
