Amir Badiee

Amir was born in Tabriz, Iran. He attended National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents (NODET) for his middle and high school. He did his BSc in Fluid Mechanics attained in 2008 at the Azad University of Tabriz. He has done his MSc at the University of Bradford. Amir is PhD student in Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing Research Group at the University of Nottingham. He currently also is a part of STAPP project.

Amir has a broad interest in the field of material science and polymers. The team at Nottingham investigates the degradation of encapsulant material used in PV modules and the effect of the degradation on the mechanical properties of the material under different environmental conditions over time.

Amir is the working in work stream 3 in the STAPP project under supervision of Prof Ricky Wildman and Prof Ian Ashcroft. The team is investigating the degradation of Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) as encapsulation material under different climatic conditions. The aim of the study is to predict the degradation of EVA over time in operating condition of PV modules.
