ABSTRACT:
Access to clean, reliable, affordable and modern energy supply is part of Sustainable Development Goal # 7.
There are 2.8 billion people in the world and about 780 million in India who do not have access to clean
cooking solutions.

Since the beginning, solar cooking has become synonymous to solar thermal cooking but it has not been
successfully adopted by people. Solar PV technologies on the other hand has always been considered expensive
and unviable.

The seminar will focus on answering if the solar PV cooking solution can overcome the problem inherent to
solar thermal cooking. The design and development of national award (1st prize in ONGC Solar Chulha Design
Challenge) winning solar PV cook stove model, technical specifications and testing of solar PV cook-stove will
be presented. Annualized life cycle costing of solar PV as well as LPG cook-stove will also be presented in the
seminar.

At the end demonstration of winning solar PV cook-stove will be made by live cooking of *Pakodas*.
